Our surprising beans from Laos
Cooperative Coffees, the import cooperative LpB – La P’tite Brûlerie is a member of and from which we import all our green coffee, was the first North American importer to introduce coffee from this terroir to our part of the world. A rather lighter roast, our Laos coffee has lots of character. Its vegetal aromas of tobacco leaf are astonishing.
Located in a high-altitude region of southern Laos, the Cooperative of Coffee Producers of the Bolaven Plateau (CPC) was created in 2007 with the support of the French Development Agency. Its main objective was to improve market access for small-scale coffee farmers who were dependent on local traders and therefore did not sell their beans at a fair value.
